What can it do?
With FAD tools you can:
- compare directory hierarchies at different times (e.g. for intrusion detection or as a reminder to document a system configuration change),
- compare directory hierarchies at different locations (e.g. for working out why one version of something works and another one doesn't).
What does it consist of?
FAD tools consists of:
- commands for generating, comparing, merging, filtering the attribute details of sets of files,
- a command to make day to day comparisons and send reports by email,
- a command to repair filesystem permissions,
- manual pages
